Ypres

We have three School Hotels in Ypres, all located in the centre of town within a few minutes walking distance from the main market square. All three properties are housed in historical buildings, which are rich in architecture so typical of the Salient. They have been sympathetically renovated to provide accommodation with modern facilities and equipment, but have still retained their architectural identity.

These well-equipped and 'school group friendly' hotels are probably best described as, and reminiscent of, a modern-day boarding school. The smallest hotel has 55 beds, and the two larger hotels have 75 and 107 beds. These hotels would be exclusive to your group, which means that only your group are in the hotel for the duration of your stay – but you must have a minimum group size that is large enough to fill about 75% of the beds (eg. minimum of 40 people for the smallest hotel).

Each hotel has a breakfast room, games room, internet suite (free broadband), drinks vending machine and teachers' lounge. Children are in multi-bedded rooms and teachers are in twin and single rooms. All bedrooms have en-suite shower, toilet and washbasin.

• Each morning hotel staff will arrive to prepare your breakfast. In Albert, everyone has breakfast in the main dining room
• Dinner is arranged at one of the nearby local restaurants, a few minutes walk away

Albert

This School Hotel was purpose-built in December 2008, specifically for school groups. Located right in the heart of the 1914-1918 battlefields of The Somme, it is only a few minutes walk from the town centre of Albert and is just perfect for those groups wishing to explore The Somme.

The property has three self-contained floors, each with their own access, and can accommodate between 45 and 62 people per floor. Your floor will be exclusive to your group, which means that only your group will be accommodated on that floor for the duration of your stay – but you must have a minimum group size of about 45 people in your group.

Each self-contained floor has its own games room, drinks vending machine, internet suite (free broadband) and teachers' lounge. Children are in multi-bedded rooms and teachers are in twin and single rooms. All bedrooms have en-suite shower, toilet and washbasin. There is a large dining room on the ground floor where breakfast is provided for the whole hotel.

On-site Hotel Staff

Unlike conventional hotels, there are no permanent hotel staff working full-time in the School Hotels. However, don't worry as you will not be totally on your own. On your arrival in Ypres or Albert, one of the managers will meet you at the School Hotel and show you around the property. Every detail will be explained and an information manual given to you. All the School Hotels have a modern fully automatic fire alarm system and the group will be taken through the fire & safety procedures. There is a phone link from the hotel to the main office, so if you should need any assistance during your stay - just phone through. The office operates a 24/7 duty call system so there will always be someone on hand to deal with your call.

These extremely popular hotels are located in the centre of Ypres and Albert, and are totally exclusive to each group. Both Ypres & Albert are ideal for exploring the WWI battlefields, but book early as the more popular dates get booked up very quickly.
