Sample Itinerary
Day 1:
Travel to Dover for the ferry crossing to Calais. Drive to Lower Normandy and arrive at your gîte in the late afternoon / early evening, in time for dinner.
Day 2:
AM: French lesson to cover some useful vocabulary and phrases for your visits. PM: Visit a goat farm to see how cheese is made (excellent visit).
Day 3:
AM: Visit the medieval town of Bayeux, and see the story of the Bayeux Tapestry. PM: Visit a cider or honey farm, or the underground caves.
Day 4:
AM: Visit the local market, where the children can practise their French. PM: Visit to the spectacular Mont Saint Michel, a medieval town on an island that sits alone in the estuary at high tide. Visit the monastery at the top of the Mont, and take in the great views.
Day 5:
Depart Normandy for return to Calais (optional hypermarket visit) and ferry to Dover. Return to school.
