Accommodation

School Study Tours Hotels & Accommodation

We understand the importance of booking the right type of accommodation for our groups, since each group’s requirements will be different. We can offer an excellent selection of hotels, gîte hotels, new-concept school hotels and youth hostels, with bedrooms having their own en-suite bathroom. Most properties are located in or near the city or town centre, whilst some others enjoy the quiet and wide spaces of the countryside.

Hotels

Most countries have their own system for grading hotels, which is often based on a range of different criteria. As hotel standards can differ quite considerably from country to country, it is very diffi cult to assess hotels based purely on their offi cial star ratings. Therefore, to help you make the right choice for your group, we will give you all the information about the hotel as well as our own personal opinion on its suitability. We offer a range of hotels, from small family-run properties to the modern comforts of the medium and larger sized hotels. We also work with a number ofinternational hotel chains, mainly using their 2 & 3 star hotels, where our groups are assured of receiving quality and secure hotel accommodation.

Hotel Bedrooms - Mainly twin and triple rooms, with 4-bedded rooms available at some specifi c hotels only. All bedrooms have en-suite bathroom facilities, and some also have colour tv and telephone. Teachers are allocated single and twin rooms.

Hotel Meals - You can choose from bed & breakfast, half-board and full-board. Continental breakfast, packed lunch and a 3-course evening meal are provided in all hotels (except in most Spanish coastal hotels where hot & cold buffet dinners are provided). Most dietary meals can be catered for, as long as they are within reason and we have ample advance notice.

Hotel Facilities - All our hotels have a reception lobby, breakfast room/restaurant, bar, lift (not in smaller hotels), and some have large lounge areas. Facilities such as swimming pool, tennis courts and evening entertainment may be found at our larger coastal resort hotels (Spain & Italy). A full description of hotel facilities will be given to you prior to booking.

School Hotels

School Study Tours Hotels & Accommodation

These new-concept School Hotels are located in the centre of Ypres (Belgium) and Albert (France), and have already proved to be exceptionally popular among school groups visiting the Battlefi eld sites and the Christmas Markets in Belgium and France. In Ypres, groups have exclusive use of the hotel, and in Albert, groups have exclusive use of their self-contained floor. All bedrooms have en-suite shower & toilet, with rooms ranging from 2 to 8 beds. Breakfast is taken in the hotel and dinner at a nearby restaurant. These hotels have a number of group-friendly facilities, and can accommodate from 40 to 180 people per group. We can also accommodate whole year groups in both Ypres and Albert.

Gîte Hotels

We have a number of large gîte hotels with capacities to take between 35 / 60 people. These gîte hotels are located in the Normandy area of France, are situated in their own vast grounds, and each group has exclusive use of the gîte hotel for the duration of their stay. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities, and there are various rooms for other activities, as well as the use of the grounds outside.

Youth Hostels

School Study Tours Hotels & Accommodation

Youth hostels are very popular with school groups providing good, clean, modern and comfortable facilities, in city or town centre locations. We use a select number of hostels throughout Europe, mainly those which provide a superior standard of accommodation for our groups.

Youth Hostel Bedrooms - Groups can expect to share rooms of anything between 3 to 6 beds. Most rooms will have a combination of bunk beds and single beds, and all will have en-suite shower & toilet facilities. Bed linen and duvets are provided, but you will need to bring your own towels.

Youth Hostel Meals - All youth hostels tend to have well-equipped self-service cafeterias or restaurants, serving breakfast and all main meals. You can choose from bed & breakfast, half-board and full-board. Meals are generally of a good standard, and some dietary meals can be catered for.

Youth Hostel Facilities - Facilities do differ from hostel to hostel. However, most have a cafeteria/restaurant, bar, reception area, games, tv, laundry & meeting rooms and internet facilities.

Your Safety at Night

All our hotels and youth hostels have night reception staff on duty, and the front doors are closed during the night. Only hotel or youth hostel guests with electronic keycards (or keys) are able to gain access after the doors are closed. All the gîtes are situated in their own grounds, and have staff staying in separate accommodation on-site throughout your stay. The school hotels are exclusive to the group staying there, and only members of the group are allowed into the hotel at any time via an entry key-code.
